Based on this analysis, certain predictions are made. The challenges to Sino-Japanese relations resulting from economics and trade, political Right-deviationism in Japan, the influence of public opinion on bilateral relations, the American element, and the Taiwan issue are reviewed. In recent years Sino-Japanese political relations have deteriorated as the Japanese government has carried out a great-power policy featuring Right-deviationism. The current situation features cool political relations in a period of high economic and trade relationships. Economic relations must be curbed while political relations are being cooled to a certain extent. This requires that both China and Japan make joint efforts to improve long-term bilateral relations.
