It established a huge system about the study of painting history, concluded rich painting history and theory and painting thoughts, record painters and painting works from the period of Xuanyuan to Huichang in the Tang Dynasty. It combined the statement on painting history with study on painting standards and painting theory, and created the unique writing methods of Chinese art history that has history, theory and evaluation united. It has made important contribution to the study of art history in the world. |
