| 中文摘要 | 尤金.奥尼尔是现代美国戏剧的缔造者,他晚期创作的具有极强自传色彩的《进入黑夜的漫长旅程》被公认为是他的巅峰之作。该剧之所以能够获得巨大成功,原因很多,而奥尼尔为其构建的精巧的富于变化的节奏模式也是重要因素之一。本文试图从作品所包含的几种要素——情节、语言策略、角色的态度和身体语言以及场景的变化等角度详细解析剧本的戏剧节奏,以期证明戏剧节奏不仅是作品结构的重要表现,而且是剧作家用以制造特殊戏剧效果的一件不可或缺的带有其个人特色的创作工具,并能对探讨奥尼尔戏剧作品的节奏起到抛砖引玉的作用。; Nowadays,few question Eugene O'Neill's iconic place on American modern stage.The playwright,known for the tragedies,made his endeavor culminate in his most autobiographical play Long Day's Journey into Night.This masterpiece indisputably stands among America's greatest literature pieces.Many factors contribute to the play's success,among which the dramatist's deft employment of dramatic rhythm comes into prominence.This paper is thus concerned with this issue.By examining various rhythm components-namely,rhythm in plot,language strategy,the character's attitude and gesture,and the set,the author intends to comprehensively reveal the play's internal rhythm pattern.Hopefully,the discussion would lend support to the notion that rhythm is not only one of the play's essential structural features,but also one of the indispensable idiosyncratic devices which the playwright utilizes to create desired theatric effects. |
