中文摘要Parallel computations are needed to effectively analyze the stability and safety of arch dams. This paper describes an element-by-element method for distributed memory processors based on the nodal connection matrix and the Jacobi-preconditioning conjugate gradient (J-PCG) method. The element-by-element method does not require a global stiffness matrix which greatly reduces the memory needed and enables automatic assignment of the calculation tasks. A 3-D parallel finite element code was developed with numerical tests for a cantilever beam used to verify the code. Analysis of the Ertan arch dam project shows that the finite element element-by-element method can be used to reliably analyze irregular and complex 3D structures like arch dams.
