中文摘要A method was developed to simultaneously oxidize NO and SO/sub 2 / through radical chain reactions to improve dry flue gas desulfurization technique. The mechanism was analyzed and adding additives was suggested to initiate the chain reactions in the flue gas. Peroxide, hydrocarbons, and nitric acid were tested as additives by experiments, respectively. The results show that NO and SO/sub 2/ can be simultaneously oxidized in flue gas by the chain reactions with appropriate additives. Peroxide and the hydrocarbons fail to sustain the chain reactions due to their own consumption of OH radicals. Nitric acid efficiently provides OH radicals to promote the simultaneous oxidation of NO and SO/sub 2/. Optimization of the reaction conditions favors the oxidation of NO and SO/sub 2/.
