中文摘要The element free Galerkin method, EFG, was used to simulate viscous, incompressible 2D flows around a cylinder for different Reynolds numbers. This analysis predicted not only the flow patterns for different conditions but also the drag and lift forces exerted by the fluid on the cylinder as well. These forces were calculated by integrating the pressure and shear force over the cylinder surface. The results show that the drag and lift forces oscillate for Reynolds numbers greater than 80. The calculated Strouhal number, a parameter characterizing the oscillations, agrees well with established results.
