中文摘要A fast crystal polarization mode dispersion emulator controlled by a microcontroller was developed using two Faraday rotators whose rotational polarization angle varies continuously within 180 degrees and a differential group delay (DGD) generator which can be programmed to match various distributions. The emulator can produce fixed DGD or DGD serials following various mathematical distributions and can randomly alter the polarization direction. Experimental results show that the emulator has good repeatability, with response times less than 1 ms, and that its measured values agree well with theory.
