中文摘要There are numerous therapeutic methods to treat femoral head osteonecrosis, hut there is no consensus on the best method to evaluate the size, location and boundaries of a necrotic lesion. A 3-D model of a necrotic femoral head developed using 3-D reconstruction of MRI images was used to quantify the femoral head and osteonecrosis volumes using direct anatomical measurements of the femoral heads. Statistical analyses of 38 femoral heads made using data from the geometric model and anatomical measurements demonstrate that the lesion volume and position are strongly correlated with collapse risk, and that the method provides an effective way to choose an optimal therapy.
