中文摘要PBS, in the form of insoluble biodegradable polymers pellets, was used as the solid substrate and the biofilm carrier of biological heterotrophic denitrifying bacteria to remove nitrates from drinking water. The experimental results demonstrate that denitrifiers form biofilms on the surfaces of the PBS granules within 15 d. The attached biomass has excellent denitrification ability despite the high pH and dissolved oxygen shock. The denitrification rate is 0.63-0.68 mg middot (g, d)/sup -1/ for pH between 4.5-9.5 and 0.48-0.7 mg middot (g, d)/sup -1/ when the dissolved oxygen is 1.4-8.5 mg middot L/sup -1/. The temperature also greatly affects the denitrification rate with a rate of 0.72 mg middot (g, d)/sup -1/ at 30 degrees C which is much larger than the rate of 0.23 mg middot (g, d)/sup -1/ at 13 degrees C.
