中文摘要	Denitrification using a starch-based biologically degradable polymer as the solid carbon source and biofilm support of the denitrifying microorganisms was studied in a packed bed reactor at low temperatures (8-10 degrees C). The results can provide the technical parameters for process applications. At 8-10 degrees C, the denitrification rate was 2.5-4.5 mg ldr (L ldr h)/sup -1/ and the nitrate removal rate was below 20% for the nitrate concentrations of 60-80 mg ldr L/sup -1/ in the influent, resulting in considerable decreases the denitrification rate and the nitrite removal rate. For hydraulic loadings of 9-12 crn ldr h/sup -1/, the denitrification rate is directly related to the loading. At 10-15 degrees C, the denitrification rate shows greater dependence on the temperature than that at normal temperature with a temperature constant, K = 0.046.
