中文摘要The performances of fly ash and quartz powder that served as an inert mineral admixture with comparable fineness during the hydration process of complex binder were contrastively investigated to distinguish physical and chemical effects of fly ash during the hardening period of complex binder pastes. The compressive strength of mortars and amount of chemically combined water of pastes were measured. The results indicated that during early hydration age of complex binder, fly ash could be simply regarded as inert admixture due to its dominating physical effect and rather low pozzolanic reactivity. Addition of fly ash dilutes the high active component, Portland cement, in the paste. It improves the hydrating condition and accordingly enhances the hydration degree of Portland cement. This effect is more evident along with the larger proportion of fly ash added.
