中文摘要	Image segmentation is very essential and critical to image processing and pattern recognition. In this paper, an image segmentation algorithm based on credibilistic clustering algorithm incorporating spatial continuity is presented. The probabilistic constraint that the memberships of a pixel across clusters must sum to I in fuzzy c-means algorithm is removed, and credibility measure is introduced into image segmentation for the first time. The memberships derived from credibilistic clustering algorithms always correspond to the degree of belongingness or compatibility, so this algorithm is more robust than the fuzzy c-means algorithm incorporating spatial continuity. By introducing a novel dissimilarity index in the credibilistic clustering algorithm objective function, the proposed algorithm is capable of utilizing local contextual information to impose local spatial continuity, thus exploiting the high inter-pixel correlation inherent in most real-world images. The incorporation of local spatial continuity also allows the suppression of noise and helps to resolve classification ambiguity. Finally, some computational experiments are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
