中文摘要A prototype of a programmable electrostatic-based liquid droplet controlling chip with a simple configuration is presented, consisting of Si used as the substrate, heavy doped poly-silicon as the microelectrode array, a SiO2 film as the dielectric layer and a fluorocarbon polymer film as the hydrophobic layer. It overcomes the shortcomings of the traditional continuous flow system and the limitation of laminar flow conditions. By controlling the sequence of voltage pulses applied to the microelectrode array under the dielectric layer, droplets on the surface of the hydrophobic layer can be quickly transported and mixed. The rapid transportation of the deionized droplet with about 0.9 mu L was successfully achieved in air by applying the voltage pulse of 30 V, and the transportation speed reached 24 mm/s. The quick mixing between the deionized droplet with about 0.8 mu L and the 0.0001 mol/L rhodamine droplet with about 1.4 mu L was successfully carried out in 7/30 s by applying the voltage pulse of 40 V, and the several methods for enhancement mixing were researched, including increasing the transportation speed of the droplets and enhancing the oscillation of the mixed droplet.
