中文摘要A numerical method was developed for limit analysis of axisymmetric shells. Quasi-conforming elements were used to construct the elastic stress field with the therm-param method used to calculate the residual elastic stresses. The limit analysis problem is then cast as a nonlinear mathematical programming problem which is solved by the sequential quadratic programming (SQP) method. Since von Mises' condition is a special case of Hill's criterion, the new method can also be applied to isotropic von Mises' materials. Numerical results of the limit analysis of combined shells subjected to internal pressures are presented using Hill's as well as von Mises' conditions. The results facilitate the design of anisotropic pressure vessels.
