中文摘要 | The H. 264 video coding standard uses rate distortion optimization (RDO) to select the best coding mode for every macroblock, which greatly improves the coding efficiency and quality. However, the coding mode selection is more complex computationally. The statistical analysis of the coding modes led to an early termination strategy for the macroblock mode decision process. Trivial mode selection processes are bypassed based on the motion properties and texture information of the macroblocks. The algorithm effectively speeds-up the coding process. Simulations show that the algorithm reduces encoding time by an average of 84% , with negligible degradation in the coding performance. |
