中文摘要 | A CMOS wideband low power variable gain amplifier (VGA) is presented. The frequency response of a common source amplifier that makes use of a source degeneration resistor is analyzed. The bandwidth of the amplifier is enlarged without extra power consumption by adding compensation capacitors to change the location of the poles and zeros. The voltage peaking that appeared at low gain is solved and the linearity is improved by using a g/sub m/-boost circuit. The VGA is designed using TSMC 0.25 mu m CMOS technology. Simulation results show that the VGA core consumes 3.15 mW at 3.3 V supply voltage and has a gain range from 0 to 40 dB. Its 3 dB bandwidth is larger than 340 MHz and OIP3 is higher than 3.5 dBm with a 5 pF load. |
