中文摘要In this paper the principle of a novel fiber optic gyroscope (FOG) , re-entrant fiber optic gyro (Re-FOG) , is introduced. The Re-FOG may lower the thermal-induced and stress-induced noise by using a shorter SSR. Based on the development of the prototype Re-FOG, some experiments on Re-FOG were conducted. The experimental results show that the Re-FOG can detect the rotation of the FOG using a short SSR, to get an equivalent result the ordinary FOG will need a several times longer SSR, The zero bias stability of the gyroscope is less than 4 degrees /h, which is the medium level accuracy.
