英文摘要 | Fiducial markers are widely used in the radiotherapy for tumor tracking, however, they are invasive, and do not certainly achieve the high accuracy. The aim of this study is to develop a non-invasive method to substitute the role of fiducial markers in the radiotherapy. The technique starts with auto-detection of a number of corresponding points with distinct tissue features. The feature point pairs are then matched using the Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT). The amplitude and orientation of the tumor motion were determined from the coordinate difference of the homologous feature points. The performance of the proposed technique was evaluated by a thoracic phantom and archived clinical cases. Sub 2-mm tracking error can be achieved in all the 3 directions. In the clinical tests, the p-values of the correlation curves between feature point tracking and fiducial tracking are less than 0.0001, which shows close relationship between these two tracking methods. The technique is non-invasive and no hardware requirement. It is potentially useful for various image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) systems. |
