中文摘要近年来,对人眼安全的2 μm输出固体激光器凭借在遥感通信、环境检测、医疗以及军事等领域的广阔用途引起了越来越多的关注。目前,国内外对2 μm输出的稀土离子掺杂激光材料的研究非常多,其基质主要有晶体、石英光纤、氟化物玻璃光纤、碲酸盐玻璃光纤和锗酸盐玻璃光纤等,但关于硅酸盐玻璃光纤的报道却不多见。硅酸盐玻璃具有膨胀系数低、机械强度高、折射率低和低非线性等特点。与石英玻璃相比,硅酸盐玻璃有更高的稀土离子溶解度;与其他多组分玻璃相比,硅酸盐玻璃具有良好的物理化学性能、热稳定性,同时成本低廉。2009年美国科学家在2 μm硅酸盐玻璃激光光纤中取得的一系列研究进展及应用,用事实证明了2 μm硅酸盐激光材料所具有的应用价值和研究意义。 本论文包括以下五个部分:文献综述;实验方法及理论基础;稀土离子掺杂硅酸盐玻璃物化及2 μm光谱性质的研究;Tm3+单掺硅酸盐玻璃双包层光纤的研究;结论。 论文首先在文献综述中介绍了2 μm输出固体激光器的应用背景。详细介绍了2 μm输出激光材料的研究进展。概述了涉及本课题的2 μm发光稀土离子及硅酸盐玻璃基质。然后提出本论文的研究思路。 在论文的第二部分,介绍了本文的研究方法,详细介绍了实验的样品制备、性能测试及光谱参数的理论计算,包括Judd-Offelt理论和McCumber理论。 论文的第三部分是本论文的核心部分,详细研究了稀土离子掺杂硅酸盐玻璃的物化性能、2 μm光谱性能。采用熔融退火法制备了稀土离子掺杂硅酸盐玻璃。计算Tm3+离子在硅酸盐玻璃中的自发辐射跃迁几率、辐射寿命等光谱参数。分析Tm3+离子单掺硅酸盐玻璃2 μm光谱性能及能量跃迁机理。研究Tm3+离子浓度变化对2 μm发光性能的影响。研究Tm3+-Yb3+双掺、Ho3+-Tm3+双掺、Ho3+-Yb3+双掺和Ho3+-Tm3+-Yb3+三掺等硅酸盐玻璃的2 μm光谱性质;并分析其能量跃迁机理。 在论文的第四部分,制备了Tm3+单掺的硅酸盐玻璃双包层光纤,测试并分析了它的2 μm光谱性能。 最后是本论文的结论部分,总结了全文的实验结果,同时指出本研究存在的不足和需要进一步研究之处。
英文摘要Recently, the development of 2 μm solid-sate laser in eye-safe region has drawn considerable attention for its wide applications, such as remote sensing, light detection and ranging (LIDAR), medical applications, and military. Up to now, there are many reports about rare earth ions doped materials for 2 μm application, such as crystal, silica fiber, fluoride glass fiber, tellurite glass fiber and germanate glass fiber. However, there are few investigations on the 2 μm emission performance of rare earth ions doped silicate glasses. Silicate glass is an amorphous material characterized by a relatively low thermal expansion coefficient, large tensile strength, low refractive index and low nonlinearity. Compared with silica glass, rare earth ions can be highly doped into silicate glass for the less-defined glass network. Besides, compared with other multi-component glasses, silicate glass has its own benefits such as stable physical and chemical properties, low cost. American scientists have obtained a series of research results of 2 μm silicate glass laser fiber, the facts show that 2 μm silicate glass laser materials are valuable and significant. This thesis includes the following five sections: literature summarizations; experimental methods and theoretical basis; investigation on 2 μm spectroscopic, physical and chemical properties of rare earth ions doped silicate glasses; investigation on Tm3+singly-doped silicate glass double-cladding fiber; conclusions. Firstly, the application of 2 μm solid-sate laser is introduced in the literature summarizations. The foregoing results of 2 μm laser materials are introduced in details. The basic knowledge related to 2 μm rare earth ions and silicate glass is summed up, then we put forward research ideas in this paper. In section 2, the experiment methods are introduced, including the sample preparation procedures, physical and spectroscopic properties measurements, and the spectroscopic parameters calculation using Judd-Offelt theory and McCumber theory. As the core section of this thesis, section 3 presents the results and discussions on physical, chemical, thermal and spectroscopy properties in rare earth ions doped silicate glasses. Rare earth ions doped silicate glasses are prepared by melt-quenching method. To evaluate the spectroscopic properties of Tm3+ in silicate glass, the radiative transition, radiative lifetimes, and branching ratios of Tm3+ are calculated. 2μm spectroscopic properties and energy transfer mechanism of Tm3+ singly-doped silicate glasses are analyzed. Then the effect of doped Tm3+ concentration on 2 μm emission properties is discussed. 2 μm spectroscopic properties of Tm3+-Yb3+ doubly-doped, Ho3+-Tm3+ doubly-doped, Ho3+-Yb3+ doubly-doped and Ho3+-Tm3+-Yb3+ triply-doped are investigated and analyzed, and energy transfer mechanisms are discussed. In section 4, Tm3+ singly-doped silicate glass double-cladding fiber is prepared, and the 2 μm spectroscopic property is measured and analyzed. Finally, all results of present work are outlined, and it is suggested that something should be done in the next stage.
