中文摘要本报告探讨了量子光学领域中的两个前沿课题:光学薛定谬猫态和原子拉比振荡,主要工作归纳如下: (1)提出了一种理论方案,如何利用Kerr非线性产生薛定谔猫态。研究表明,光场在一些特殊的时刻处从初始的相干态演化进入宏观可区分的、不同的双模相干态的叠加态,即所谓的双模“薛定谔猫态”。特别地,经选取适当的参数,在系统半周期处获得了双模Yurke-Stoler态。我们也讨论了双模场之间的失谐以及系统耗散对双模“薛定谔猫态”的影响。(2)建立了一个非线性的Jaynes-Cummings模型,系统地研究了当初始场处于压缩态时该模型中原子的拉比振荡。若初始的压缩场显示一种振荡式的光子数分布,原子对外场的响应在时间上是非常奇异的。由于附加的非线性效应,许多全新的现象,如回声崩塌、反回声恢复以及振荡式的恢复等随场与原子的失谐的变化而出现在原子拉比振荡中。与标准的Jaynes-Cummings模型相比,本模型含有更多的、重要的特征,尽管它较复杂。而且,这个模型在旋波近似下是严格可解的,在实验上是可以实现的,因此,有理由把它当成检验光与物质相互作用基本理论的基地。
英文摘要This report has undertaken an investigation of two front-line themes in quantum optics: optical Schrodinger cat states and quantum Rabi oscillations. The main works are summarized as follows: (1) A theoretical scheme has been proposed to produce two-mode Schrodinger catlike states via Kerr nonlinearity. It has been discovered that at some spe-cial times the system evolves into a quantum superposition of a finite number of different macroscopically distinguishable two-mode coherent states, i.e, so-called two-mode Schrodinger-cat states. Especially the two-mode Yurke-Stoler state has been achieved at half a period of the system by taking proper parameters. The influence of the detuning and dissipation on two-mode Schrodinger catlike states has been also discussed. (2) We have put forward with a nonlinear Jaynes-Cummings model, in which atomic Rabi oscillations have been systematically investigated when the cavity field is initially prepared in a squeezed state. If the initial squeezed field exhibits an oscillatory photon-number distribution, the response of the atom is very strange in time. Due to the additional nonlinearity, many completely new phenomena such as ringing collapses, anti-ringing revivals, and oscillatory revivals appear in atomic Rabi oscillations as the detuning changes. In contrast to the standard JCM, the present model contains more nontrivial features, although it is more complicated. Moreover, this model is exactly solvable under the RWA and can be realized in the experiment. Thus, the present model should be served as a testing ground for fundamental theories of radiation-matter interaction.
