中文摘要近年来,全固态的大功率半导体泵浦固体激光器的研究取得了长足的发展,更由于具有高效、长寿、使用与维护方便、体积小等优点,在激光打标、精细加工、医疗、遥感、测距等方面得到了越来越广泛的应用。随着功率的增加,激光晶体中热致应力和应变成为了限制大功率下输出高光束质量激光的主要因素之一。配合稳一非稳混合腔的部分端面泵浦的板条激光器,是一种新型有效的大功率高光束质量的固体激光器设计。它充分利用了板条状增益介质的优异的散热能力,降低增益介质中的热效应;均匀的部分端面泵浦结构实现了晶体中的准一维的热场分布,可以减弱甚至消除代个方向上的热梯度,从而减轻了热致双折射的产生及其影响;端面泵浦可以实现良好的模式匹配;再配以与板条状固体增益介质几何形状完好匹配的混合腔结构,保证了高效、高光束质量的大功率激光输出得以实现。本论文主要围绕泵浦藕合系统与光学谐振腔这两个方面,对利用这一技术实现大功率高光束质量的板条激光器进行了讨论与分析。其中,泵浦藕合系统的设计,主要是围绕着准一维热场分布的实现,为此采用了波导整形的技术以利于在紧凑的空间上得到所需的均匀泵浦。谐振腔的设计,则是分别从它的稳腔和非稳腔方向分别进行了讨论。在理论分析的基础上,介绍了部分端面泵浦混合腔板条激光器的实验结果,利用Nd:YVO4在不到100mm的腔长内,获得了连续输出逾百瓦近衍射极限的1.06μm近红外激光,光束质量因子矿<1.5。在连续输出的实验基础上,还进行了高平均功率、高重复率电光调Q实验,同样得到了近衍射极限输出,同时重复频率可高达50kHz,单脉冲能量为1.6mJ。
英文摘要Diode-pumped solid-state lasers have the advantages of high efficiency, compact size, long lifetime, high reliability and easy use. In the last decade a lot of progresses have been made. This results in the increasing use of diode pumped lasers in various applications such as material processing, communication, remote sensing, and medical treatment. However, thermally induced distortions in laser crystals limit the scaling of high power output at high beam quality. Partially end-pumped slab laser with a hybrid resonator is a favourable concept for power scaling at high beam quality and efficiency since it has both the properties of the high overlapping efficiency of end pumped rod lasers and excellent cooling conductivity of slab lasers. With partially end-pumping quasi-one-dimensional thermal distrbution can be acheived, which is useful to reduce or estimate the thermally induced birefringence. With a hybrid resonator matching the geometric dimension of the gain media, high beam quality can be scaled at high power. In this dissertation, the pumping and resonator design were discussed respectively. A planar waveguide is used for beam shaping to achieve quasi-one-dimensional thermal distrbution in compact size. Two cylindrical mirrors were used to form the stable-unstable hybrid resonator. In one plane the cavity is thermal stable, and in the orthogonal plane it is off-axis unstable. Both were taken into account during designing. The experimental setup and results obtained with Nd:YVO4 slab by using a hybrid resonator shorter than 100mm will also be presented and discussed. 1.06um nearly diffraction-limited laser was measured with more than 100W output in cw operation. And the beam quality M2 was lower than 1.5 at this power level. Furthermore, a high average power and high repetition rate electro-optically Q-switched slab laser with high beam quality output was also demonstrated. When the repetition rate reached 50kHz, 1.6mJ pulse was measured at TEMQO operation.
