Numerical Evaluation for the Thermal Stability Profile in High Temperature Superconductive Coil Working with High Current Shock

中文摘要Unlike the low temperature superconductors, heat accumulation in a specific volume is more likely the main cause of quenches for the high temperature superconductive (HTS) coils. Hence the coil can be still stable against a pulsed current shock. In this paper, the thermal stability of the HTS coil against pulsed high current shock is evaluated numerically. The results show two group s of thermal stability borders corresponding to two types of heat accumulation. For safety, the coil in the HTS power devices should be designed as thermal stabilized.
